I am a product of governmental ignorance.
Designed and molded by an outdated church.
So the stage is set.
You are the audience; I am the antagonist.
The curtain of obscurity rises, and the play begins.
The price for this show was your vote,
instilled by the same government that wrote the play.
My appearance is distasteful
my performance is stellar.
You hang the antagonist
the curtain of obscurity falls again.
The lights dim, you walk away.
I’m still here swaying in the wind.
Tomorrow a new audience will return
And the government will write another play.
The outdated church will design another star;
the audience will hang another antagonist
then leave believing they’ve made a difference.
