October’s Wake

rustic sunsets
my blood pools upon the soil
let the cold damper my bones
for nobody cries in October’s wake.

youth never bends
blindly devouring the world
staking claim
above all.

October awaits
with her irony review
handing out dead daisies
upon bloodied field.
