The Poet’s Creed

Light a match
blow the flickering embers
watch it as it grows
see the world catch fire
offer no excuse.

Canadian Author Michael Plante was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
He struggled with addiction for 25 years before getting sober in 2005.

Michael is a member of the Metis Nation of Ontario. An organization representing “the collective aspirations, rights and interests of Métis people and communities throughout Ontario”.
Michael is part of a fractured society that continues to work together to reunite as a whole. “Our identity is not defined by a governing body, it is defined by our heritage and or traditions”. As the Metis Nations across Canada grows and collects its people its leaders will continue to uphold these traditions fortifying their heritage into the next millennium and ensuring their rights as a distinct society.

Michael has been creatively writing for 20 years. As a means to combat the struggles with addiction he started creatively writing as a way to identify the issues pertaining to addiction. “The more I engaged the deeper I dug“. He found a passion and a new challenge that has brought him closer to his Creator. Now with his 4th book released he has come to the pinnacle of his writing career. “The challenge of writing isn’t the topic, it’s the manifestation of an idea from conception to birth, that is the intrigue”.

Michael now resides with his wife Cheryl in Kirkfield Ontario.
